How to Get Groceries and DoorDash Delivered to Your Disney World Hotel

We always have grocery items delivered on every single trip to Walt Disney World. It saves an absurd amount of money, and frankly, we need bedtime snacks even though we are full-ass adults. The alternative is paying $5 for a single banana at the resort gift shop, and I’m just not emotionally prepared for that kind of financial decision.

So, can you DoorDash to a Disney World hotel? Can you get a case of water and enough Diet Coke to survive the Florida humidity delivered?

Yes, thank goodness.

Grocery delivery at Disney World works; it saves us every trip, and we’re never going back to gift shop banana pricing. Here’s exactly how we do it.

Why Bother With Grocery Delivery at Disney World?

The simple answer is money. The more complicated answer is also money, but with the added bonus of convenience and sanity.

Buying snacks, drinks, and breakfast items inside the Disney bubble is a fantastic way to light your vacation budget on fire. A single bottle of Dasani in the parks will set you back enough to make you consider just drinking out of the fountains on Living with the Land.

Grocery store shelves stocked with bread, snacks, and drinks for hotel delivery.

Are we exaggerating? Maybe a little. But you can’t deny that it definitely frees up more of your budget for cocktails at Geo-82 when you prepare ahead and have some essentials in your room.

Here’s what our standard order always includes:

  • Water. The water at WDW is notoriously terrible, hence why we prefer beer, BUT we know we need to be “healthy” and have water (sometimes), too! It’s the one item I’m most thankful to have delivered. Pro tip: Since you are already saving a chunk of change by having water delivered vs. purchasing it in the park, go ahead and spring for the name brand stuff. The store brand bottles are wonky and squishy and don’t always want to “stand up” on a table.
  • Diet Coke. A non-negotiable lifeblood.
  • Breakfast items. Think Pop-Tarts, protein bars, or anything you can eat while rushing to the bus stop.
  • Fruit. We always get some fruit that we’ll likely let spoil, but we buy it anyway as a kind of sacrifice to our health (and the Disney gods).
  • Alcohol. Because a resort-priced cocktail is about the same as a six-pack delivered to your door. More on this later.
  • Paper Towels. Always get a cheap roll. You’ll be surprised how often you need them.
  • Sunblock. We always forget it. Every time.

Getting these things delivered means less time wasted, more money for things that matter (like a second ride on Guardians), and the ability to have a late-night snack without putting on real pants to go to the food court.

The Best Grocery and Food Delivery Services for Disney World

You have options, ranging from massive national chains to local Orlando-based services. They all have their quirks, and none of them are perfect. Go figure.

Service
Skye’s Take
Fees
Walmart Delivery
Probably the most cost-effective and reliable option. The interface is familiar, and if you have Walmart+, delivery is free over $35. Fresh produce can be a bit of a gamble, but for shelf-stable stuff, it’s the winner.
Free for Walmart+ members (min. $35 order). Non-members pay $9.95 to $19.95 depending on the time slot.
Amazon Fresh / Whole Foods
If you’re an Amazon Prime member, this is another solid choice. The selection from Whole Foods is obviously better for organic or specialty items. It’s basically the same process as Walmart, just potentially more expensive.
Varies. Free for Prime members on orders over a certain amount (this changes, check the app). Non-members pay tiered fees starting around $9.95.
Instacart
Instacart’s strength is its variety—you can order from Publix, Aldi, Costco, and even ABC Fine Wine and Spirits. The downside is that you’re at the mercy of a personal shopper whose motivation level can vary wildly. Prices are often marked up, and the fees can pile up.
Starts at $3.95 for non-members plus service fees, priority fees, and an expected tip. It’s a financial rabbit hole.
DoorDash / Uber Eats
Best for immediate needs or a hot meal. We’ve totally DoorDashed McDonald’s when the french fry craving was real. Also, we once got some amazing Mediterranean bowls from a now-closed restaurant. It’s faster but the grocery selection is limited and more expensive.
Usually free delivery over a minimum if you have DashPass or Uber One. If not, expect delivery and service fees.

There are also local services like Garden Grocer and Dizzy Dolphin Delivery, but we’ve consistently found the big national players to be easier and more cost-effective.

The Logistics: Drop-Off, Bell Services, and Tipping

This is what you’ll want to do to ensure everything goes smoothly:

When you place your order, use your resort’s official address (I’ll list them below) and make sure your name on the order matches the name on your hotel reservation. In the delivery instructions, add your room number if you have it, and specify “Please leave with Bell Services.”

Kroger natural spring water and DoorDash delivery bag

Here’s the process:

  1. Your delivery driver will arrive at your resort’s main entrance.
  2. They’ll drop the entire order off at the Bell Services desk (typically located either in the lobby or outside at a counter).
  3. Bell Services will tag your bags and store them. They have refrigerators and freezers, so your cold stuff will stay cold.

Now, for the caveats. Bell Services gets REAL busy around check-in time, so either be prepared to wait in a line if you are picking it up yourself OR wait in the room a bit if you’re having it delivered.

Once you’re ready, you have two options:

  • Go to the Bell Services desk and pick it up yourself. This is free. Usually.
  • Call Bell Services from your room phone and have them deliver it. Disney sometimes adds a $6 charge to your room for this service. It’s hit-or-miss, but don’t be surprised if it shows up.

Either way, don’t forget to tip! A few dollars for the Cast Member who wrangles your 12 bags of groceries is standard.

Groceries delivered to Disney World hotel: bananas, trail mix, wine, bagels, yogurt, water

Important Exception: The Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve are not Disney-owned and have a different policy. They request you meet your driver, and if you can’t, Bell Services will hold your items, but they do NOT provide refrigeration. Plan accordingly.

Getting Alcohol Delivered

If your order contains alcohol, the rules change. Florida law requires the delivery driver to verify the age of the person receiving the order. This means you have to meet the delivery driver in person at the resort lobby. They cannot leave booze with Bell Services.

Some services are better at this than others. Instacart, for example, is great for ordering from ABC Fine Wine and Spirits. Just make sure you’re physically there to show your ID. If you want my full breakdown of how alcohol delivery works at WDW, I broke it all down over on Drinking Around the World.

PTM’s Pro-Tips for Perfect Delivery Timing

Coordinating your arrival with your grocery delivery is an art form we have perfected through trial and error. You don’t want your stuff sitting at Bell Services for 8 hours, but you also don’t want to be waiting around for it.

Here’s our infallible timing strategy:

  • For flights arriving BEFORE 2 pm: We go ahead and schedule the grocery delivery for around 7 pm. In all likelihood, our room isn’t going to be ready for a bit, and we’re likely dropping our suitcases off at Bell Services before heading to the parks. A 7 pm drop-off means that when we are done having fun, our groceries will be at our resort.
  • For flights arriving AFTER 2 pm: We schedule the delivery for about 2 hours before we are supposed to land. This is a bit of a gamble on flight delays, but it usually means the groceries arrive right around the same time we do, and if the Disney gods (or goddesses) are on our side, our room will be ready, too. The hope is that way we can get to our room, unpack, and have Bell Services bring everything up all at once.

What to Order

Beyond the snacks and drinks, a few other items have become essential for us. As I mentioned, a cheap roll of paper towels is non-negotiable. One time we got stuck in a rainstorm at Epcot that had water up to our ankles—a classic Florida afternoon. We were able to stuff our shoes with paper towels over the next couple of days, and they (eventually) dried out. Without them, we would have been squishing around for the rest of the trip.

Out-of-the box things you might consider ordering:

  • Paper Towels: Disney provides zero paper towels in standard rooms. Having a roll on the counter is essential for wiping down surfaces, drying out refillable mugs or shoes, or acting as a makeshift plate
  • Clorox or Lysol Wipes: Great for a quick pass over the TV remote, light switches, and the sticky table where you eat quick-service breakfasts.
  • Hydrocolloid Blister Bandages: Standard bandaids will sweat off in an hour. Hydrocolloid gel bandages are essential for high-mileage days.
  • Anti-Chafe Balm: Sticks like BodyGlide or Megababe Thigh Rescue. Even if you don’t usually chafe, walking 10+ miles a day in Florida humidity can mess you up in ways you can’t even imagine.
  • Disposable Ponchos: Instead of paying $12+ per Disney poncho, have a cheap multi-pack delivered to the room so you can toss them at the end of a rainy day rather than trying to dry them out in the shower.

And a word of warning about your room’s “refrigerator.” In most standard Disney hotel rooms, it’s actually a beverage cooler.

It will keep drinks cool, but it won’t get cold enough for sensitive items like milk or meat. If you need a real refrigerator and microwave, you’ll need to be in a Family Suite (like at Art of Animation) or a Disney Vacation Club Villa. If you need help figuring out which resorts have the best amenities for adults, I put together a guide on the best Disney resorts for adults.
